The Beetle in the Dust Ball

Lately I've been having philosophical dreams that have either to do with God or life in general. This drawing is from a dream I had just last week.

In my dream, I'm sitting on a bench in my living room. When I look down at my hand, I see what appears to be a scarab beetle crawling around inside a dust ball. My little sister is there with me, and when I ask her what it is she casually replies "it's God". A part of me doesn't believe her, for how could a powerful all-knowing being be in the form of a worthless beetle? But when the beetle starts to crawl (or roll) towards my hand on the bench, I get ready to crush it but hold back in case this beetle really is God. The dream ends with my hand hovering over the beetle as my mind races on whether or not it's okay to kill the beetle.

In the drawing, the shadow of my hand looks different, and that's because all the shadows in my dream moved slower than what was casting them. So as I watched my own hand cast a shadow over the beetle in the dust ball, I noticed it moved slowly and almost like it had it's own mind. Maybe my shadow was more prepared to kill the beetle than I was.
