Wannabe Hippies

I've been jamming out to the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" and grooving to their "Within You Without You", and got inspired to draw Amy, from my future comic International Idiots, and her past experience as a wannabe hippie of the year 2000.

In her 14th year, Amy was living on an Air Force base with her family, and that summer she discovered a commune of hippies (not traditional hippies, mind you, just some college students who liked the hippie lifestyle and decided to try it out) jamming just outside the base. She had never seen hippies before and was intrigued by their lifestyle. Her Republican father did not approve of her newfound interest in hippies, and after much arguing she ran away and spent the rest of her summer traveling with the commune. There, she was known as Psychic Jasmin. She had a summer fling with one of the men, Sunset Grass (who's real name is Immanuel). You'd never seen a couple of wannabe hippies of that time period more in love than Jasmin and Sunset.
Since that summer, she had not heard from Sunset for many years until they found one another by accident over the International Idiots Forum. They had already moved on and were now in steady relationships (she with Edgar and he with Nasira), and remained good friends from then on out.

my original inspiration for this part of Amy's past was inspired by my mother's tale of how she met a peaceful commune of hippies in the late 70s.
